Hello everyone,
We are experiencing an issue with Microsoft Edge for Android on Samsung smartphones enrolled in Intune (Android Enterprise – work profile).
- The app works perfectly on versions 140.0.3485.81 and 141.0.3537.91.
After updating to any newer version, Edge freezes on the startup logo (Edge splash screen) and never opens.
We have already tried the following troubleshooting steps without success:
Cleared cache and app data.
Restarted and fully reset the phones.
Verified Internet connectivity (Wi-Fi and 4G).
Installed all pending Android system and app updates.
Re-enrolled devices in Intune and re-synced policies.
When we reinstall one of the previous working versions (140.0.3485.81 or 141.0.3537.91), Edge launches correctly and functions normally. All affected devices are Samsung smartphones running Android 14 and 15, enrolled in Intune as fully managed devices.
Questions:
Is this a known compatibility issue between the latest Microsoft Edge builds and Intune-managed Android devices?
Are there any known workarounds or specific Intune configuration changes required?
Will this be addressed in an upcoming Edge release?
Thank you in advance for your help and insights.
