Won't let me add 365 to my Microsoft account on MacBook Air M3

First, can you confirm if you’ve already signed in to your Microsoft 365 account at https://account.microsoft.com/services That page should show your active subscription.

Once you confirm it’s active, here’s what to do next on your MacBook Air:

If you haven't already, I’d suggest is to uninstall any existing Office apps on your Mac to avoid conflict: https://support.microsoft.com/office/uninstall-office-for-mac-eefa1199-5b58-43af-8a3d-b73dc1a8cae3

Then, to reinstall Microsoft 365:

Go to https://m365.cloud.microsoft/apps

If you're not already signed in, select Sign in and use the account linked to your Office or Microsoft 365 purchase.

Once signed in, from the Apps tab, select Install Office to start the download.

That section of your account page os for registering Microsoft products, such as XBox game systems, Surface tablets & various Microsoft accessories. It basically is warranty registration. It isn't for regestering product from Apple or other manufacturers.

To install Office on your Mac, generally use your account at https://account.microsoft.com/services .
