Hello Sabah Sabah,
Thank you for reaching out in Microsoft Q&A forum.
I understand you’re experiencing issues with OneNote freezing and showing “Not Responding” whenever you switch pens or move handwritten notes on your Lenovo Yoga 7i.
With this issue, you can try to:
- Update OneNote and Windows
- Go to Microsoft Store → Library → Get Updates.
- Ensure Windows Update is fully installed (Settings → Update & Security → Windows Update).
- Repair or Reset OneNote
- Settings → Apps → Apps & Features → OneNote → Advanced Options.
- Click Repair first (keeps your data).
- If that doesn’t work, click Reset (you’ll need to sign in again).
Disclaimer: Resetting OneNote will remove all app data and settings, and you’ll need to sign in again; make sure your notes are synced to the cloud before proceeding to avoid data loss.
- Disable Hardware Acceleration
- Open OneNote → File → Options → Advanced.
- Scroll to Display and uncheck Disable hardware graphics acceleration.
- Restart OneNote.
- Check Pen and Touch Drivers
- Open Device Manager → Human Interface Devices.
- Right-click HID-compliant pen → Update driver.
- Also update Intel Graphics drivers via Lenovo Vantage or Windows Update.
- Clear OneNote Cache
- Close OneNote.
- Navigate to:
C:\Users\<YourUser>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneNote\ - Delete the cache folder.
- Restart OneNote.
