In this case, I advise that you should check the storage of your phone to ensure that you can have enough spaces to open that file. Also, may I know the type of file that you want to open in it?
If you find that the space is large enough to open it, but the issue still happened, I suggest that you can reinstall the Excel in your phone to see if it can be fixed and make sure it's updated to the latest version. Please note that before you start to reinstall the app, please kindly verify that Office is associated with your account at https://account.microsoft.com/services so that you can sign-in correct account after you reinstall.
Moreover, you may try opening in OneDrive or Excel Online. If the file is stored in OneDrive, open it using Excel Online via a mobile browser. Sometimes the web version handles corrupted files better.
Besides that, I have found a method to repair a corrupted workbook in Excel that may be related to your case, but you have to use PC to fix the file first:
- You open Excel and go to the File tab.
- Go to Open, then navigate to the location and folder containing the corrupted workbook.
- In the Open dialog box, select the corrupted workbook.
- Click the arrow next to the Open button, then choose Open and Repair.
- Choose Repair Option In the dialog box:
- Click Repair to recover as much data as possible.
- If Repair fails, click Extract Data to recover values and formulas.
After that, you can try to open that file to see if it can be normal.
