    Hi,

If your mouse cursor is blinking while using Mouse without Borders, it’s usually due to a minor software conflict or how Windows is drawing the pointer. A quick fix is to restart Mouse without Borders and see if that clears the glitch. If it persists, try disabling other mouse or graphics utilities running in the background, updating your graphics driver, turning off cursor trails, or switching to the default Windows cursor scheme, these changes can reduce rendering issues that cause blinking. You can also run the Windows hardware troubleshooter to check for any underlying mouse or display problems. Narrowing down whether the blinking happens only when moving between machines or also on a single PC can help pinpoint whether the software or Windows is causing it.

    Kind regards,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft community I understand that your PC's cursor is blinking which can certainly be disruptive since your queries tagged under Windows Forms I will provide a solution that addresses both a potential software conflict/issue and a specific windows form development context.

    Troubleshooting steps

here is the most common solution to resolve a blinking or flickering mouse cursor on a Windows PC:

    1.      identify and address software conflicts

a blinking cursor is often a sign that a background program is repeatedly taking focus which can make the cursor flicker.

    ·         Restart windows explorer:

o   Press ctrl+shift+esc to open task manager.

o   Find windows explorer in the list (you may need to Scroll down to windows processes)

o   right click on it and select restart. This will refresh your desktop and taskbar.

    ·         Check task manager (for background apps):

    o   open task manager.

o   Check the processors tab and sort by CPU usage. Look for any unfamiliar application that are rapidly spiking in usage as these could be the source of the conflict. You may need to end these tasks to see if the blinking stops.

    2.      Update/reinstall drivers

outdated or corrupted drivers are a frequent cause of cursor problems.

    ·         Update mouse/pointing device drivers:

o   right clicks the start button and select device manager.

o   Expand the mice and other pointing device category.

o   Right click on your mouse device (e.g., “HID-compliant mouse”) And select update driver.

o   Choose search automatically for updated driver software.

    ·         Update graphics drivers:

o   in device manager expands display adapters.

o   Right click on your graphics card and choose update driver.

    3.      Check for “mouse Without Borders” conflict

since you mentioned “using mouse without border”, if you are referring to the Microsoft garage utility mouse Without Borders, this is a known source of occasional cursor flicker as it checks connection status.

    ·         Temporarily close/disable mouse Without Borders to see if the blinking stops if it does, you may need to look for an updated version of the utility or check its setting for an option to adjust its polling frequency.

If you are developing of windows form

if you are a developer seeing this issue within your Windows Forms application (especially on a borderless form) the flicking is usually related to how the form is painting itself.

    ·         Enable double buffering: the most common fix for flickering is to enable double buffering to ensure the form is fully rendered before displaying.

o   For the main form, you can try setting the doubleBuffered property to true in the form’s constructor:

please try the first three general steps and let me know the result if the issue persists, please clarify if the bringing happens everywhere in the windows or only inside the specific application. If you find this helpful, please mark this as answered.
