Hi,

I can't see my Azure resource in my Azure portal anymore. I am still getting (and paying) monthly invoices.

I get one of two error messages, depending on the route I use to access the portal:

  1. An error occured when trying to fetch resources. Additional details from the underlying API that might be helpful: Please provide below info when asking for support: timestamp = 2025-10-10T11:30:22.5112961Z, correlationId = 32006e7e-a264-4910-8bc8-34ccc6687f42. (Code: AccessDenied) Access is denied to the requested resource. The user might not have enough permission. (Code: AccessDenied) Try refreshing the page. Your resources aren't affected by the issue, we're just having trouble showing this view right now. To see a list of resources, select Simplified View.
  2. Switch to an account that has permission. Your account (******@XXXX.XXX) doesn’t have permission to view or manage this page in the Microsoft 365 admin center.

I don't have any other business accounts that I could try - some I'm sure I'm using the right one.

Thanks

First of all make your permission as an owner, sign out and sign in again then you will be able to see all your resources. check your user rights

    Hey there, Matt Stevens

I can't see the server in the portal at all

Is that when you sign into both of your accounts on the Azure portal (https://portal.azure.com).

    How can I do that,

To check your permissions, please can you sign into your Azure portal (link above) and sign into your account that has admin rights.

Once you have signed into your account, please click onto Microsoft Entra ID. You may need to search for it in the search bar.

    User's image

Once you have clicked onto this, the service should open on your dashboard. You will want to click onto users (found on the left-hand side under manage).

    User's image

Once you have clicked onto users, you will be able to see all user accounts for your tenant. Please click onto the user account you wish to assign, or check, permissions, so that the account information displays on the window.

On the left-hand side, you will see Assigned role and Azure role assignments.

    User's image

It would be worth checking both to see if the right permissions have been set. The Azure role assignments are roles that have been assigned on Azure. When I click this, I see my test virtual machines I had. You just need to choose the subscription you wish to view to check the permissions for the resources.

    Hope this helps,
    Nathan

    Hey there, Matt Stevens

If you have the invoice number, please can you reach out to billing support. They have more tools available to them to look into this problem for you.

To open a support ticket on Azure, please sign into the Azure portal here: https://portal.azure.com

Once you have signed into the portal, please click onto help and support at the bottom of the navigation menu on the left-hand side.

    User's image

Please then click onto Create a support request

    User's image

Then complete the contact request form. Please select billing after you have given a brief description. I used "Unable to access VM" when trying to submit a support request.

Please let me know how this goes.

    Thanks,
    Nathan
