Hi @Froilan Olat ,
Thanks for reaching out!
After researching, here’s what you need to know about enabling a hotspot on your Acer A315:
- The legacy Hosted Network feature (enabled via
netsh wlan set hostednetwork) is deprecated in Windows 10 and completely removed in Windows 11 for most modern Wi-Fi drivers. - If you run
netsh wlan show driversand see Hosted network supported: No, that’s expected on current hardware/OS. It cannot be changed because newer WLAN drivers use the WDI model, which doesn’t support Hosted Network anymore.

Instead of Hosted Network, use Windows Mobile Hotspot, which uses Wi-Fi Direct and works on Acer A315 models:
Steps (Windows 10/11):
- Go to Settings → Network & Internet → Mobile Hotspot.
- Under Share my Internet connection from, choose your active connection (Ethernet or Wi-Fi).
- Click Edit to set your network name and password.
- Toggle Mobile Hotspot to On.
- (Optional) Quickly enable/disable via Win + A → Mobile Hotspot button.

If Mobile Hotspot Option Is Missing
- Update your Wi-Fi adapter driver from Acer’s support site.
- Ensure WLAN AutoConfig service is running.
- If the adapter still doesn’t support it, you can use a USB Wi-Fi dongle that supports SoftAP or use third-party tools like Connectify.
