I have lost the ability to copy and paste images to Microsoft Whiteboard. Anyone know how to fix this issue? I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app and when I go to paste a new image a little box pops up saying "whiteboard.cloud.microsoft wants to see text and images copied to the clipboard BLOCK or ALLOW" If I hit allow I still cannot paste the image. Please advise!

    Hi @Whitney Brown,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

We appreciate you reaching out and sharing the issue you're experiencing with copying and pasting images into Microsoft Whiteboard. We understand how disruptive this can be, especially after you've already tried reinstalling the app.

To help us investigate further, could you please provide the following details:

    • Are you using a personal Microsoft account or a work/school (business) account to sign in to Whiteboard?
    • Does the issue happen in the desktop app, the web browser version (whiteboard.microsoft.com), or when using Whiteboard inside Microsoft Teams? If you've tested multiple platforms, is the issue consistent across all of them?
    • Are you able to paste images into other apps (like Word or PowerPoint) on the same device?

In the meantime, here are some solutions you can try:

1/Ensure everything is up to date

Confirm that your Whiteboard app, browser, and operating system are all running the latest versions.

    2/ Check clipboard permissions

If you’re using the browser version, check that clipboard permissions are set to “Allow” for whiteboard.microsoft.com.

You can do this by clicking the three dots next to your profile > select Setting User's image

In setting > select Privacy, search, and services > Select Site Permissions > Select All permissions tab > Navigate to and click on Clipboard and check if whiteboard is not allowed to see your clipboard.

    User's image

    3/ Try different methods

    • Use both Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V and right-click > Paste.
    • Try dragging and dropping the image into Whiteboard—this can sometimes bypass copy-paste issues.

    4/ For Whiteboard in Teams

Try insert an image to Whiteboard in Teams:

    • Save the image to your computer.
    • In Whiteboard in Teams, click on the three dots in the menu bar > select image User's image

5/ Clear browser cache and sign in again to see if the issue persists:

    • Type "edge://settings/clearbrowserdata" in your address bar in Microsoft Edge.

Select Clear browsing data > Select clear now
