Hi @Ed Field
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A Forum and for sharing your situation.
I know it can be confusing to come across different products, especially when you’re simply trying to find the right way to get more space in OneDrive.
Could you please let me know if you’re using a personal account or a work or school account, and if you have any subscription? This will help me guide you more accurately.
For personal account, here’s how storage is offered:
-Free accounts usually start with 5 GB of space.
-If you have a Microsoft 365 Personal or Family subscription, your OneDrive storage increases to 1 TB per user.
You can refer this article for more information: Cloud Storage Pricing and Plans
If you need more space, you have two main options:
-If you’re on a free account, you can upgrade by purchasing a Microsoft 365 subscription.
-If you already have Microsoft 365 Personal or Family, you can add up to 10 TB of additional storage on top of the 1 TB that’s already included.
Please note that for Microsoft 365 Family, additional storage can be purchased by the subscription holder, and the extra space will only apply to the account that makes the purchase. Additional storage is not available for Microsoft 365 Basic or free accounts.
You can review the details and add storage here: Add Additional Cloud Storage – Microsoft OneDrive
I hope this helps. If I’ve misunderstood your situation, please feel free to let me know so I can provide more accurate guidance.
