Hi Steve,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Advertising Learn Q&A Platform! My name is Jefferson, and I will be assisting you with this query.
It sounds like you're facing an issue where your ads have been disapproved due to an "inaccessible website" error, even though the destination page is working fine. This can be quite frustrating, but don’t worry; there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot this.
- Check Your URL: Make sure that the URL you’re using in your ads is correct and that it is fully accessible from different networks. Sometimes, certain firewalls or security settings can block access, which could lead to the disapproval of your ads.
- Test Accessibility: You can use online tools to check if your URL is accessible globally. Sometimes, regional restrictions or server configurations might affect the accessibility.
- Content Matching: Ensure that your destination page accurately reflects the content that is advertised. If you modified the content on the page recently, wait a little while for any caches to clear and for it to be re-evaluated.
- Monitor HTTP Response Codes: Ensure that your server responds with a proper HTTP status code (200 OK) when the URL is accessed. You might also want to check if there are any redirects happening that could confuse the ad review system.
To inspect for connection errors, open your browser’s Developer Tools (press F12), go to your website then navigate to the Console tab. We recommend using Edge browser. If any errors appear, consult your web developer for assistance.
If, after reviewing the Microsoft Advertising policies, you believe that your ad component shouldn't have been disapproved, you can request an exception:
- From the navigation menu on the left, hover over Campaigns, and then select Ads & extensions.
- Hover over the ad disapproved status, and then select Request an exception for this ad or Request an exception for all ads in this ad group.
- In the Tell us your reason for requesting an exception box, tell us why you believe the ad meets the policies and should not have been disapproved, or why the policy in question doesn't apply.
- Select Request an exception.
We'll review the ad component again to ensure the right decision is made. When you submit the request, the delivery status for the ad component is set to Exception under review.
The Microsoft Advertising team responds to requests as quickly as possible—most reviews are completed within 48 hours. After we've reviewed your request, we'll change the status of the ad component and send you an email summarizing any approvals or disapprovals.
