esc key not working

my esc key doesnt work on my laptop, even with an external keyboard attached the esc key wont work (software issue), ive tried everything i could find online, including:

checking drivers for updates (all updated)
turning off stickey keys and filter keys
testing in safe mode (no results)
running keyboard diagnostic (no results)
scanning for malware (no malware)
checking the on-screen keyboard (that works fine)
even cleaned it with compressed air, no results

Hi Ange,

Thank you for posting and sharing your troubleshooting steps. We sorry to hear the problem you are getting on your laptop. May i know the exact model of your laptop?. When did you bought this laptop?.

Please check if the Escape button is also not working using on screen keyboard on your laptop. To use the on screen keyboard click start button then type On-screen keyboard. Try to reconnect your external keyboard to another USB port on your laptop.

Thanks for responding, my laptop is a Legion 5 15ACH6 bought around 4 years ago. I know it's getting old, but everything else is working nicely and i'd really like for it to last longer.

The on-screen keyboard works, as opposed to any physical keyboard

The keyboard itself is attached to the computer (laptop) which means i don't need to switch USB ports, but since the original post, i've tried with an external keyboard, where the esc continues to fail.

My problem has been solved. Through microsoft power toys i remapped the esc key to the tab key. Now i cant play my games peacefully. Without concern.
