Not sure I understand. Are you trying to add an option button to the design view of a form?

    Hello there.

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

Just to clarify, are you trying to add an option button in Microsoft Access? Please share with us every detail related to your query. Also, the option button is not available directly in Access like it is in other Office applications such as Excel. In Access, you can use a combo box or a list box to achieve similar functionality. You can add a combo box or list box from the Design tab in the Access ribbon. You can find further info here: Add a list box or combo box - Microsoft Support.

If you need further assistance with this, please let me know.

    Best regards,

@Oscar C P. Radio buttons in option groups are very much a part of Access form design.

@kmo24 Radio buttons (i.e. option buttons) are part of an Option Group.

    • Start with the Option Group itself.
    • Add as many radio buttons as you need inside that Option Group.

Note that the practical limit on displaying radio buttons is probably not that large. It's not practical. However, a group of two to five or six should be quite reasonable.

Post back if you need more detailed instructions on Option Groups and Radio Buttons.

A radio button can also be added to a form as an independent control, rather than as part of an option group. As such it behaves much like a check box, which would be a more usual choice for a control with possible values of True or False.

Lets first get some nomenclature straight. There is no such thing as an "option button". There is a command button or an Option Group. A command button is generally a rectangle that has code attached to its click event. An option group is a group of controls (usually radio buttons) which allows you to select one of a list of options.

To add either type of control to a form is better off using the appropriate wizard. While the form is in Design mode, use the Control box to select either the command button or option group and place it on your form. Then follow the wizard to create the control.
