Dear Megan,
Thank you for reaching out, and I’m really sorry to hear about the problem you're experiencing. I completely understand how inconvenient it can be to get locked out of your account, especially when you're just trying to access your school resources.
Since you've changed phones and no longer have access to your Microsoft Authenticator app, you’ll need help from your school’s IT administrator or Global administrator. They can update your phone number in the Microsoft Entra admin center, which will allow you to regain access to your account and set up the Authenticator again.
Here’s what you can do:
- Contact your school’s IT or Global admin and let them know you need your phone number updated in Entra.
2. Once they’ve made the change, you should be able to sign in and reconfigure your Authenticator app.
I know this process can feel frustrating, but your admin should be able to help you quickly. If you need help explaining this to them, I’d be happy to help you draft a message.
Let me know if you have any other questions. I’m here to help!
Best Regards,
Killian-Ng - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist.
