    Hi Spaltzer,

Thank you so much for reaching out to the Microsoft Community. I'm really sorry to hear you're having trouble installing OneDrive on macOS Monterey 12.7.6. I know how frustrating that can be, and I’m here to help you as best I can.

Right now, the latest version of OneDrive requires a newer version of macOS. But don’t worry — there’s a workaround! You can still use OneDrive by installing an earlier version that works well with your current system. Here’s a direct link to download it:

    https://oneclient.sfx.ms/Mac/Installers/23.132.0625.0001/universal/OneDrive.pkg

Once installed, I recommend turning off automatic updates to prevent OneDrive from upgrading to a version that might not be compatible with your macOS.

Also, if you’d like Microsoft to consider supporting macOS Monterey again in the future, I’d really encourage you to share your thoughts on our official feedback portal: Ideas · Community

Your voice truly matters, and your suggestions help shape the future of our products for everyone.

Feel free to share with me updates on how things are progressing after you've completed the aforementioned steps. If you have any questions or need clarification, please do not hesitate to contact me. I would like to do my best to help you!

If you found my response helpful, marking it as an answer would be useful for others facing similar situations. Wishing you a smooth day ahead!

    Sincerely,
Jeanie-H - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist.

    Thanks for the fast response.

That package was able to install, but when I try to open it, I get an error that mac OS 13 is required.

Guess I will save some money for hardware (a new laptop) that I don't really want to purchase.

    Hi again,

Thank you so much for the update and I’m really sorry to hear that even the older installer didn’t work out

At this point, since OneDrive’s newer versions require macOS 13 or later, and older builds are also enforcing that minimum, the best workaround for now is to use the web version at https://onedrive.live.com. It’s not quite the same as the desktop app, but it still lets you access, upload, and manage your files from your current system.

Also, if you’d like Microsoft to reconsider support for macOS Monterey in future updates, I really encourage you to share your thoughts on our Ideas · Community. Your voice truly matters, and feedback like yours helps shape the direction of our products.

And if any part of my response helped, marking it as an answer would be a big help to others in the community who might be facing the same issue. It makes the question easier to find and could save someone else a lot of time, so thank you in advance if you do!

Please don’t hesitate to reach out again if there’s anything else I can do to support you. I’m here to help.

Wishing you a smooth day ahead!

    Sincerely,
Jeanie-H - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist.

    Hi spaltzer,

I just wanted to reach out and see how things are going on your end. You've been on my mind, and I truly hope everything is feeling a bit better now.

I’m really, truly sorry I couldn’t do more to help earlier. It means a lot to me that you gave me the chance to support you, and I genuinely wish the outcome had been different. Even though I wasn’t able to resolve the issue, I still care deeply and want to make sure you’re doing okay.

If there’s anything else, I can do even something small please don’t hesitate to let me know. And if you feel comfortable reconsidering your feedback, I’d be sincerely grateful. Either way, thank you again for your time, your patience, and your understanding.

Wishing you a peaceful day ahead.

    Sincerely,
Jeanie-H - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist.

I've had the same issue as everyone else here, so I hunted around the Internet and found an archive of past versions of OneDrive. Several of them gave me the "OSX 13 Is Required" message, but I finally found that version "24.196.0929.0004" (Intel) installed and works very well with my OSX 12.7.6 - I found this by installing successively older versions of the app until I went back far enough in the OneDrive version history to get a version that worked.

I'm not going to post a link here as I don't want Microsoft to try to get this archive taken down when in reality it is a very helpful public service provided to us Mac users of 12.7.6 that Microsoft has chosen to ABANDON by withholding a working version of this software from us or, even worse, auto-updating to an incompatible version of OneDrive (unforgivable). So if you get it working, be SURE to disable auto-updates of the OneDrive app!

If you look around the Internet I'm sure you'll be able to find the installation package somewhere!
