Why am I now getting two email notifications every time someone assigns me a task?

Starting about a week ago (4/21/25) every single time someone assigns a task to me Loop sends me TWO emails. I get on email saying I've been assigned a task (normal and ok). However, than I get a second email stating that that person mentioned me in a loop component. Surprise it's the task that person assigned to me. Is there a way to reverse this so that it goes back to only sending me the "you've been assigned a task" email? It's really annoying to get 2 emails for one action especially since Loop doesn't have notification settings.

    Hello Latane,

    Thank you for reaching out! We listen to you and are happy to help.

    I know you have questions about the topic "Getting two notifications in outlook ", let me help you.

    I would like to inform you that currently, Microsoft Loop provides limited customization options for notifications, which may be a challenge for users seeking more control.

    In addition, community support only provides technical assistance and does not develop. We have tested it in personal/Businessaccounts. Currently, Microsoft Loop provides limited options for fine-tuning notifications, which has always been a common concern of users. This means that you will receive notifications for all activities, but you cannot filter them based on your interests.

    If someone mentions you in Loop, you typically receive an email notification. “Unfortunately, there are no settings in Loop to customize or disable these mention notifications.” Several users in the community have expressed similar concerns about the lack of notification settings in Loop, as can be seen in this previous thread:

    <Disabling notification about mention - Microsoft Community>

    You can consider setting up email rules to manage Loop notifications. For example, you can create a rule in Outlook to move Loop mention emails to a specific folder to help organize your inbox. Other users facing similar challenges have also proposed this approach. If you are using Outlook, you can consider using rules to manage notifications from the Loop workspace:

    <Manage email messages by using rules in Outlook - Microsoft Support>

    Microsoft is constantly improving its products, and user feedback plays a vital role in shaping future updates. In future versions, more refined Loop notification controls may be introduced. You can always share your suggestions for Loop in the upper right corner of the Loop section, as shown:

    I hope this information helps you solve your problem. If this is helpful for your issue, mark it as useful or useless so that it can be helpful to others.

    Thank you for your patience and understanding

    Best regards,
