Hi, JohnLlUK
Thanks for posting in the community.
I understand your concern about the ability of the iPad to fulfill your need for access everywhere.
All Microsoft 365 plans allow you to view documents using the Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or OneNote apps for iOS or Android devices. However, the features and files available to you depend on if you have a Microsoft 365 qualifying plan or non-qualifying plan, or if you have a one-time purchase of Office.
- Check your plan: *1 Editing available only on screen sizes up to 10.9 inches. *2 Editing available only on screen sizes up to 10.1 inches. Some qualifying plans have a screen size limit of 10.9 inches for editing in the Microsoft 365 mobile apps. And all non-qualifying plans have a screen size limit of 10.1 inches. For example, if you're using an iPad Pro with a 12.9 inch screen, you must have a qualifying Microsoft 365 plan with access to the desktop apps to edit files.

- Based on feedback from the Microsoft community, the Excel experience on the iPad is different from the Windows version, with fewer features in the iPad version of the Office/Microsoft 365 apps. Below are links to the relevant references:

- Also if you are planning to purchase a new iPad or an older refurbished model, it is recommended that you make sure your device has been updated to the latest version of iOS for optimal compatibility and performance.
