Recently updated to new iOS and Microsoft family app keeps crashing. Have restart phone multiple times and uninstall and reinstalled app several times. Before the iOS update, app was giving errors on the notification page. Had to keep hitting refresh button and it would finally connect to Microsoft.

Hey everyone, good news! An update is now available which resolves this issue, with the new app version implementing the fix being 1.24.3. Please update to the newest version and see if the issue is resolved.

Based on some user experience, if you do not get the update offered you may have to uninstall the app first, then reinstall to get the new version.

    Hello Jeremy,

I’m an Independent Advisor and Microsoft user like you. Thanks for posting the query here at this forum.

Could you please let me know if you're using the latest version of IOS (16)?

There are no existing bug reported with IOS version of family safety app and I have verified with IOS version of 16.1.2.

As you have tried to reinstall multiple time, could you please try to refresh the device using factory reset option? Apologies for inconvenience.

I don't see any particular workarounds for IOS devices in below link. https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/e1fb76e6-a320-4496-beeb-bb363378c6d8

I have iOS 16.4.1. I am not going to do a factory reset. I have way to much data and apps that would require hours to reinstall.

Hi all. I have been finding the same thing for the last day or so and have tried all the same actions: updated iOS and deleted and reinstalled the Family Safety app several times. Each time solves the problem for a short while until I next have to open the open - eg to give my child more screen time.

A factory reset of my device is not a practical solution I’m afraid - the risks, complexity, and time of doing so aren’t worth the benefit - this is clearly a Microsoft / IOS bug.

Same crashing for me - iOS 16.4.1.

After reinstalling the app, the registering process is working fine, but after finished setting up (logging in and permissions) it crashes after 2-3 seconds. And the same after force closing and starting again (even without doing anything - just starting the app) - 2-3 seconds and crash.

BTW, same for my wife and she is still on 16.3.1 with fresh app install (and not so old factory reset).
