I had an error with trying to send an email (Microsoft 365) on my android phone.

The send arrow was disabled. I deleted the email account.

I tried to add the account again and now it is coming up with 'Something went wrong. {5ssai}.

    I get the same error.

I have added an account for 3rd party email using IMAP which works just fine. The email is also an alias in my MS Family plan. I'm trying now to add that email again to use my the calendar from my MS account. It prompted the account already exits and if I wanted to added it again for another service. I choose yes. it then attempts to login but I get the Something went wrong (5ssai) error.

Same problem with galaxy s24 ultra. I was able to add some office 365 email accounts to outlook on this phone but when trying to add some other office 365 accounts I get: [5ssai] problem.

The only difference I can see is that the ones I was able to add are newer than those that give error. Maybe because they were migrated to offcie 365 from other plans.

I am having the same issue with just a single email. It works fine on Windows 11 desktop. Have tried on three different Samsung devices, same error.

Error Tag: 5ssai Error Code: 884576759

Existing Outlook emails on devices still work, adding any new email to any of these devices has error

I've done all the suggested clean up.

I've talked to my mail host (GoDaddy) and because it works on the PC, the day it's a device issue, not an email issue.

Of the three of my businesses using outlook, only one is having trouble. I have both an S10+ and an S22 that are not letting me log in to that email. Ironically enough, I can still go into the app for the phone authentication requirements to approve a desktop to sign in to the email.

Makes no sense, but I did the following (after trying millions of things)

    1. Removed all accounts from setting -> managed accounts, associated to outlook.
    2. Restarted the phone
    3. Removed account from Microsoft Authenticator
    4. Restarted the phone
    5. Added account to Microsoft Authenticator.
    6. Enabled Multifactor authentication.
    7. Added account to outlook (android)

The step 7 asked me to use multifactor authentication, I used send me text on registered number. Worked well.

I hope this helps you all. Expecting Microsoft or GoDaddy or any other provider to help is a waste of time. We are just another drop in their ocean and they don't care if it doesn't work.

I hope someone from MS Office 365 team reads this and out of some self shame helps others with similar issue.
