How to remove deleted channel?

Scenario:

I'm a member of a MS Team containing several channels. The team owner deleted one of the public channels named "Monthly Ops Deck" and created a new limited access channel named "Monthly PMO Ops Deck". After the Team owner deleted the channel, I could still see the older deleted channel. The deleted appeared in BOLD suggesting it contained a message. When I clicked on the channel to view it, I received an error message that reads "We're having trouble loading your messages. Try refreshing.". I clicked the "Refresh" button but it continually displayed this message. I restarted MS Teams, shut down my MacBook but this issue persisted.

I resolved the issue by referring to another article which discussed an entirely different issue but described how to clear MS Teams cache. Here are the steps.

    1. Quit Microsoft Teams (ctrl-Q)
    2. Go to the command line and run the following: rm -rf ~/Library/Caches/com.microsoft.teams rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Microsoft/Teams/Application\ Cache/Cache rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Microsoft/Teams/blob_storage rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Microsoft/Teams/Cache rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Microsoft/Teams/databases rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Microsoft/Teams/GPUCache rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Microsoft/Teams/IndexedDB rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Microsoft/Teams/Local\ Storage rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Microsoft/Teams/tmp
      1. Launch Teams
