    Hi GianBon,

Welcome to Microsoft Office Community Forum. Thank you for sharing your concern with us today and we hope that all is well.

We understand that you are trying to install Remote Desktop App from the Microsoft Store but unable to. Let’s us check on this together and sort this out. Rest assured, we will do anything in our capability to assist you with your concern.

As per you description you already tried to install the app but it is not letting you. This issue normally occurs if you Windows Defender is turned off.

However, we’d like to know more about it in details so that we can provide a more accurate resolution for you. To start, please provide us information on the following questions:

    1. Are you running a third party antivirus software?
    2. Is the issue isolated to the Remote Desktop App or also happening on the other applications you are trying to download?
    3. What is the error message you are getting after failing to install the application?
    4. Screenshot of the error message that you are getting. Please make sure that the link will be accessible to us.

Meanwhile, below are possible troubleshooting steps we can perform to fix your issue:

    1. If you are running a third party antivirus software please turn it off.
    2. Make sure Windows Defender is turned on.

    Turn on Windows Defender :

    • Press the Windows Logo + X key combination on the keyboard and, from the list, click Control Panel.
    • In the Control Panel window, click System and Security.
    • In the System and Security window, click Action Center.
    • In the Action Center window, in the Security section, click the View antispyware apps or View anti virus options button.
    • in the Action Center window, click to highlight Windows Defender and then click the Turn on button.
    • Once it has been turned on, Windows Defender will open automatically.

Let's also make sure that you device is running on the latest Windows Update. Please follow this link Install the Windows 8.1 Update (KB 2919355) (microsoft.com) on how to manually check if you Windows 8.1 is up to date.

Once all the steps are completed please try to download the application again.

We look forward to your response. If you have other clarifications about this matter, you can get back to us by replying to this post.

    Sincerely,

    Carlo O.
