Downgrading and upgrading Microsoft Edge

Hi,

When I upgrade to a new version of Microsoft Edge, I get a message that "Your browser has been updated to the newest version" like this:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/edge/update/119?form=MT00KK

However, if I downgrade to a previous version and then upgrade back to the new version, I no longer get this message. Please can someone tell me how to alter it so that if I downgrade it, there is no trace of the newer version so that the message reappears. I am on Ubuntu. Thanks
