I'm starting to believe I have malware or a rogue extension hijacking my searches for edge.

One time while I was doing something produtive on edge, all of a sudden it closed and gave me a short glimpse of a message saying updating edge, I was confused but I let it do its thing because for some reason I could not be able to update edge, after that it reopened automatically, all was good except for an extension in the toolbar that did not look familiar, I saw it was named "Ultralonica", I just ignored it but as soon as I tried searching something it was like it hijacked the Ui and all my search results were looking of...not to mention the normal "bing search" in the URL was switched with a random websites URL, to clarify its redirecting my searches, I can't seem to delete the extension it has no valid source and it said installed by my organization. I also have another issue where my browsers are controlled by my organization anyways. To conclude I just need to remove this extension as I don't want to switch to google. Thanks!

    Hi, IsaaxIsNotTaken

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

This issue is likely caused by a Group Policy that enforces the installation of a malicious extension. Issues related to Group Policy are beyond the scope of support provided by us. However, we can offer some basic suggestions. If the problem persists, you can visit Microsoft Learn to seek further assistance.

Please check whether there are any Policies present under this address. If there are, click into them, check the path, and send it to us.

    edge://policy/

    (For example)

You can also try using the following commands to clean up the registry where Policies are stored. Please run CMD as an administrator and enter the following commands.

    REG DELETE "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge" /f

    REG DELETE "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge" /f
