Hello AM260,
Thank you for contacting the Microsoft Advertising Community forum!
I am sorry to hear you are not happy what Google Import doing with your Microsoft Advertising Daily Budget, but don’t worry! It’s everything in settings, let me explain!
You can import campaigns from Google Ads directly through the web user interface using your Google Ads credentials. An Import Preview will show a summary of the changes that will be applied by the import. You will also have the option to opt out of certain settings or features like Ad Distribution and determine what aspects of your Google Ads campaigns to import.
During new account signup, an Import from Google link will appear at the foot of the page throughout the signup process. After signup, the option to Import from Google Ads will be accessible within the Import button, along the top of the UI. In both cases, see the Import campaigns directly from Google Ads help article for more information on how to import both single and multiple Google Ads campaigns.
For imports, note the following:
- Google Ads sign-in is required and you will need to agree to grant permissions to Microsoft Advertising's UI to import all data successfully.
- During import, you can choose Advanced import and then go through What to Importto select several additional import options such as tracking, lists, or new or existing items.
- Selecting Show Advanced Optionswill further increase your customization for these options.
- Under Other Options, you can use Find & Replace to update your Custom Parameters and Tracking Templates.
- You can set up a recurring import schedule. See Edit your scheduled imports and review import history and results for more information.
- By default, we will set up an Auto schedule, which allows Microsoft Advertising to set an import schedule to best optimize campaigns. If you wish to run ad-hoc imports should ensure you select either Now or Oncewhen completing the Set schedule stage of the import settings.
- By default, we will raise bids/budgets to meet our system's minimum requirements, unless you opts out of this during the import process.
- Bid/Budget note: A common error when importing from Google Ads is to overlook the bid/budget options within the What to Import >Updates to Existing Items section, as these are hidden under the Show Advanced Options dropdown menu.
These operate separately from the bids and budgets values for new imports. Please review both sets of bids and budget options, especially if you plan to set up recurring Google Imports to avoid unexpected changes being made in your Microsoft Advertising account.
- Multi account import notes:
- Account level URL options - We currently support only a single check box to opt in or out of the multiple account level URL options for all the accounts being imported. Customers can select the Show Tracking Template link to open a pop-up box which will contain the tracking templates for all the accounts.
- Microsoft Merchant Center (MMC) - We currently do not support multiple MMC store mappings for different accounts or for different campaigns for an account.
Not all data is included in an import from Google Ads (for example, radius targeting or zip code targeting information). Be aware that you may not see a warning about the data that is not imported. See What gets imported from Google Ads for more information on what does and doesn't get brought in from Google Ads. After the import, be sure to review your campaigns and ensure that targeting, bids, and all other data is configured correctly. Then make any needed changes within Microsoft Advertising.
So, in quick recap, please double check your settings on your Microsoft Advertising account regarding Google Import. You can include/exclude items you want/don’t want to be imported.
I hope you find this reply informative. I will send you a private message to assist you further if needed.
Sincerely,
